Hospitality Internship

Hospitality Intern: Fall 2016 (also accepting applications for Summer 2017)

*Participate in our 15 week Hospitality Training Program in Long Island’s Vineyard and Beach community.
*Be part of an innovative lodging and lifestyle brand promoting sustainable living and comfort.
*Cross train in a role that combines both front of the house and back of the house production to create a meaningful guest experience.

*Receive training in logistics and technology, sales and marketing, event management, as well as sustainability practices, agrotourism, community outreach and development.
*Gain experience in guest services by responding to inquiries, welcoming guests and tending to their needs while on the premises.
*Take part in quality control process to ensure that guest room attendants and groundskeepers are upholding the standards necessary to continually maintain and elevate the guest experience.
*Inventory management of environmentally friendly amenities, room linens, and other products used to enhance the room experience.
*Assist the Events Team in planning and executing events hosted by the hotel including weddings, private dinners, production companies, and offsite catering.
*Perform any other reasonable requests made by guests or management.

*Must be working towards a B.A. in Hospitality management, Event  Planning, Communications, Business administration or related field.  Students with previous hospitality or customer service experience should also apply.

*Individual must love to work with people, be energetic, embrace the physicality of the operations role, be interested in public service, and have a strong work ethic.
*Must show a track record of completion of projects, ability to follow instructions, multi-task, and work well independently, as well as within a team.
*Must be detail oriented and interested in the importance of the appearance of the hotel and property.
*Must be computer literate:  Microsoft Word and Excel, is a must.  Microsoft Publisher, Photoshop and HTML a plus.
*Excellent communication skills (written and spoken), as well as professional appearance.
*English speaking a must (Spanish language is a plus).
*Perfect English language skills for phone work.
*Must be non-smoking, leading a healthy lifestyle.
*Must work from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend.

*Dormitory-style employee housing.
*Tips when working events.
*Weekend meal(s) provided when kitchen is operational.
*If hired as a permanent employee at the end of the 15 week training program, you will be eligible for benefits including subsidized healthcare coverage, 401k, paid vacation days, discretionary year-end bonus and other benefits.
*Visa sponsorship available for qualified candidates.
